Frequently asked questions

Is my pet's data private?

Yes. Everything stays on your device and, if you turn it on, in your own private iCloud. There are no accounts, no ads, no tracking and no analytics — and no server of ours that could hold your records. Details in the Privacy Policy.

How does iCloud sync work? Can you see my data?

Sync uses Apple's private CloudKit database inside your Apple Account, so your records appear on your other devices. We have no access to it and cannot read or recover it. If you prefer, turn iCloud off for PawNook in iOS Settings — the app keeps working fully offline.

I changed phones — how do I get my records back?

Sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud enabled and open PawNook. Your pets and records sync back automatically. Give it a moment on first launch, and make sure iCloud Drive is on for PawNook in iOS Settings.

The document scanner didn't read my vaccination card correctly

Take a sharper photo with the card filling the frame and even lighting, avoiding glare from plastic sleeves. Recognition runs entirely on your device. You can always correct any field before saving — nothing is stored until you confirm.

What exactly is free?

One pet profile with weight charts, vaccinations, medications and parasite treatments, vet visits, reminders, the daily diary, widgets and iCloud sync — plus a combined allowance of three items across document scans and gallery photos.

The three free items are shared between scans and photos together — not three of each. Deleting any item, a scan or a photo, frees its slot.

What does PawNook Plus add?

Unlimited pets, unlimited photos and document scans, the PDF report for your veterinarian, health insights and summaries, and all six themes. Available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open PawNook → Settings → PawNook Plus → Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used for the purchase.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PawNook. Or inside the app: Settings → PawNook Plus → Manage Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

My reminders aren't arriving

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → PawNook and allow notifications. Also make sure Focus modes or Low Power Mode aren't suppressing them, and that the reminder is switched on in the app.

How do I share records with my veterinarian?

Open the pet → Insights → export the PDF report, or Settings → Data → PDF report. It includes the profile, weight chart and health history in a clean printable layout that you can email, AirDrop or print.

Which pets can I track?

Any of them — dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and more. Each pet gets its own profile, records and reminders.

Does PawNook give medical advice?

No. PawNook is a record-keeping and reminder tool, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything, and it never replaces a veterinarian. Insights are generated from what you enter and are informational only. If something worries you about your pet, contact a vet.

How do I delete everything?

Delete individual records or a whole pet inside the app, or delete the app to remove its local data. If iCloud sync is on, deleting data in the app removes it from your iCloud too.
