Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the Velvie iOS application ("Velvie", "the App") developed by Yuliia Kulakova ("the Developer") handles information. Velvie is a private appointment book and client book for one beauty professional — her day, her clients, her money, all in one place. It was built around one principle: what you write down stays yours. There is no Velvie account, no Velvie server, no advertising and no third-party trackers or analytics.

You keep a book of clients, so please read section 2. Velvie holds the personal details of the people you serve. On your device you are in charge of that information — the Developer never receives it and cannot read it — and a few responsibilities come with it.

1. What the App holds

Velvie stores the information you choose to enter. Depending on which parts of the App you use, this may include:

Your studio: your name, the services you offer and their prices, your working hours and breaks, and your fixed monthly costs such as rent or insurance.
Your clients: a name, and — only if you add them — a phone number, a birthday, and a free-form note about the person.
Appointments and visits: the date and time, the service, the price, whether the visit happened and whether it was paid, and any private reminder you set for yourself about a client.
Treatment records: the formula or notes you keep for a client, and any before-and-after photos you attach.
Your money: what came in, the cost of materials, your own take-home, gift certificates you sold, purchases and supplies.
App preferences such as the theme, the first day of the week and your currency.

Important: this is entered by you, for you. The Developer does not receive it, cannot read it, and operates no server that stores it.

Velvie does not collect: your email address, your location, your contacts, advertising identifiers, or any usage analytics. Velvie does not read from or write to Apple Health, and it does not read your phone's contact list — a client's phone number is one you type in yourself.

2. Your clients' data, and your responsibility

Velvie is a professional tool, so some of what you enter is the personal data of other people — your clients. This is normal for an appointment book, and it comes with a point worth being clear about.

On your device, for that client information, you are the data controller and Velvie is simply the tool you use to keep it. The Developer is not a controller of your clients' data, does not receive it and cannot access it — there is no Developer server it ever reaches.
Under the GDPR (EU/EEA), the UK GDPR and similar laws, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to keep your clients' details and, where your local law requires it, for letting your clients know that you keep a record and how they can ask you to correct or remove it.
A purely personal address book falls outside some of these rules, but a book kept for your business generally does not — so treat your clients' details with the same care you would expect for your own.

Because everything stays on your device (and, if you leave sync on, in your own private iCloud), you already hold the only copies and can correct or delete any of it at any time.

3. How the information is used

The information is used only to provide the features of the App on your device:

To show your day, your calendar, your client book and your money.
To schedule local notifications for reminders you set — an upcoming appointment, or a private note-to-self about a client.
To work out simple totals from what you entered — what came in this month, and what is your own after materials and fixed costs.
To show a Home Screen widget with your next appointments.

The information is never used for advertising, profiling, marketing or model training, and is never sold or rented.

4. Where your data is stored

Velvie stores your records on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework, inside the App's private container, protected by iOS sandboxing and device encryption. Your device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, together with iOS encryption, protect that data at rest.

You can also export a single backup file that includes your records and their photos, which you keep yourself. Because there is no account and no Developer server, there is no central database of users that could be breached.

5. iCloud sync

iCloud sync is on by default so that your book is safe if your phone is lost and appears on your other Apple devices. You can turn it off at any time in Settings. When it is on, your records are mirrored to your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, under your Apple Account. To be precise about what that means:

Sync uses your iCloud, not a server operated by the Developer.
Data in the CloudKit private database is accessible only to you. The Developer has no access to it and cannot read, export or recover it.
The photos you attach to a client's card are mirrored the same way, into your own private iCloud.
Apple processes this data as part of providing iCloud, under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Turn sync off, and new records stay on that device only. What is already in your iCloud stays there until you delete it.

6. Device permissions

Velvie asks for a permission only when you use a feature that needs it:

Camera — to take a before-and-after photo of the work you have just done. The photo stays in the App and in your own backup.
Photo Library — to attach photos you pick yourself to a client's treatment card. Velvie only reads the photos you choose; it does not scan your library.
Notifications — to deliver the reminders you create for appointments and for your own notes about a client. Every notification is scheduled and delivered locally by iOS. There is no push server, and no notification content ever leaves your device.

Velvie does not ask for your location, your contacts, the microphone, or Apple Health. You may revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings; the rest of the App continues to work.

7. Widgets

The Home Screen widget reads a small snapshot of your next appointments from a private App Group container on your own device, so it can draw without launching the App. It stays on your device.

8. Third-party services

Velvie contains no third-party SDKs — no analytics, no advertising, no attribution, no crash reporting, no social networks. The App makes no network requests to any server operated by the Developer — there is no such server. The network is used only by Apple's own services listed below, and when you tap a link to this website.

The only external services involved are Apple's:

Apple iCloud / CloudKit — sync within your own Apple Account (see section 5).
Apple App Store / StoreKit — subscriptions. Payment is handled by Apple; the Developer never sees your payment details and receives only an anonymous confirmation of whether a subscription is active.

9. Sharing and disclosure

The Developer does not share, sell, rent or disclose your information, because the Developer does not have it.

Information leaves your device only when you deliberately share it — for example by sending a client their free time slots, or by exporting your backup file. In that case you choose the recipient and the channel.

10. Your rights and control

Access — everything Velvie holds is visible inside the App. There is no hidden copy.
Correction — every client, visit, price and note can be edited or deleted at any time.
Erasure — Settings has a step that erases everything. If sync is on, that also removes the copy from your iCloud.
Portability — you can export a backup file with your records and photos and keep or move it yourself.

Because the Developer holds no copy of your data, a request to the Developer to access or erase it cannot be fulfilled — you already hold the only copies, on your device and, if you left sync on, in your own iCloud.

11. Data retention

Records are kept until you delete them. Velvie does not expire or archive them on its own, and the Developer retains nothing.

Deleting the App removes what is stored on the device. Anything already mirrored to your iCloud stays in your iCloud until you erase it — so if you want everything gone, erase it from Settings before deleting the App.

12. Children's privacy

Velvie is a professional tool for beauty specialists and is not directed at children. The App does not knowingly collect information from children, and it does not collect information about its users at all.

13. International users (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)

Velvie is available worldwide. Since the App does not collect, transmit or process personal data on any Developer-controlled server:

There is no Developer-held personal data to access, rectify, port or erase by request — you exercise those rights directly in the App.
The Developer carries out no international transfer of your data.
No personal information is "sold" or "shared" as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
No cookie or consent banner is required, because no tracking or profiling takes place.
Where iCloud sync is on, Apple provides that service under its own terms and privacy policy.
For the client details you keep, you are the controller (see section 2); if you are in the EU or the UK, your clients may exercise their rights with you directly.

If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

14. Changes to this Policy

If this Policy changes, the updated version is published at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
